If true, the actress, who plays Suki Panesar on the soap, will follow in the footsteps of fellow Strictly contestants Jamie Borthwick, Bobby Brazier and James Bye. In 2021, the Glitterball trophy was taken home by former Frankie Lewis actress Rose Ayling-Ellis. Earlier than that, in 2018, Dawn Swann star Kara Tointon also won, along with professional dance partner Artem Chigvintsev. Do you fancy Balvinder’s chances? Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers The tabloid’s source added: “She’s excited by the prospect, too, as she feels viewers will see a different side to her.” It’ll be quite the change of pace for Balvinder, who’s best known for playing formidable Pansesar matriarch Suki Panesar. Balvinder is best known for playing no-nonsense Suki (Credit: BBC) What’s next for Suki as Balvinder ‘confirmed’ for Strictly Suki has been at the heart of some of the soap’s biggest storylines since joining in 2020. After faking cancer to win over a family who had turned against her, she began to show a softer side when she fell for Eve Unwin. As Eve and Suki’s romance developed, Suki attempted to extricate herself from her abusive marriage to husband Nish. Nish didn’t exactly take Suki’s new life choices well – trying to kill them both before dying himself. At the same time, Suki also became a part of the soap’s monolithic ‘Six’ storyline. As one of Six, Suki participated in the cover-up of Keanu Taylor’s murder. Since then, things have been a bit quieter for Suki, supporting granddaughter Avani in her strip search trauma and the family in the running of their businesses. Suki returned to screens last week as the Panesars discovered that Bernie Taylor had been ripping them off. However, she ultimately allowed Bernie to get away with the money as ‘payback’ for her part in Keanu’s death. What Balvinder’s Strictly stint means for Suki is unclear – although she’s sure to play a massive part in the Panesars’ future as Ravi’s drug plans intensify.
