Everything about Denise's Jack and Ravi revelation which made no sense

It didn't need to go down that way
Joel Harley

A shocked Denise Fox learned the truth about Zoe’s shooting in EastEnders last night (Tuesday, September 9), as Ravi told her what Jack had done. Jack had been partly responsible for shooting Zoe after getting into an impromptu wrestling match with his love rival.

As they fought over Okie’s gun, the firearm went off, hitting Zoe. Since then, the men have raced to cover their tracks, with Jack attempting to double-cross Ravi by planting the gun in his flat.

However, Ravi learned what Jack had been up to, resulting in the escalation of their feud. This involved Denise finding out, as Ravi dished the dirt on her police officer husband.

Here’s everything about that reveal which didn’t make sense.

Broad daylight reverse robbery

As the episode began, Jack staged a daring reverse-heist. Sending Ravi off on a wild goose chase, he planned to sneak into Ravi’s flat to plant the gun.

This he did by walking down the street in broad daylight, while wearing a pair of forensic gloves. He then slid into Ravi’s home (again, wandering in during the middle of the day) after witnessing Ravi and Priya leave, mid-argument.

It’s no wonder he was almost caught by Priya – it’s even more surprising that he managed to get that far.

How not to stash a gun

Once inside, Jack looked for a good hiding place. Ejecting Priya’s heels from a shoebox, he then stashed it in the best place he could find… under the bed.

“Jack hiding the gun in the most obvious place imaginable irritated me. Ravi would obviously look under his bed although he’s lucky Priya didn’t stumble across it given his near miss moment with Priya whilst she was in the flat,” wrote one fan on X.

“Not jack stashing the gun under ravi bed. Cmon now do better what kinda police officer are u?” said another.

Could Jack have not found a better hiding place? One of Ravi’s many safe houses, for instance?

Jack’s unnecessary plan

Meanwhile, others have questioned the logic (and logistics) of Jack’s plan. It’s understandable that he would want to use the occasion to bring down his old rival, but why exactly is he so scared of Ravi in the first place?

Ravi may claim that Jack pulled the trigger, but can he really prove it?

“To be fair there is no evidence Jack actually fired the gun so Ravi could tell whoever but I doubt the police would believe him or anyone on the square,” wrote one fan.

“Am I missing a trick here but there’s been that many wiped & reused fingerprints of Ravi and Jack on the gun that there’s no actual evidence that Mr Brainless Copper Branning really did pull the trigger,” said another.

Could all this have been avoided?

Foghorn Denise

What Jack hadn’t counted on when planting the gun was the involvement of Denise. After catching Jack with the keys to the flat, she demanded what he’d been up to. When he told her that he’d been fixing Ravi’s boiler (if that’s what you want to call it now), it all fell apart from there.

“Why would Denise mention the Boiler?” asked one fan.

“sorry why would she mention the boiler,” agreed another.

“It wasn’t even relevant for Denise to mention ‘ Jack fixing boiler’ in that moment,” a third pointed out.
