Mel’s back in the Square any day now, and viewers are convinced she’ll be coming home to sort out the mess left by the failed heist. After the police turned up at the Arches during the heist, Aidan’s ex-wife Ciara arrived and sent the cops away. Then she made a phone call telling the person at the end of the line, to “pack bag”. Tamzin Outhwaite, who plays Mel, has said her character is coming back darker and more damaged, with lots of secrets – so it’s definitely possible she could be involved with the heist in some way.
