Furious at being the last to know about her daughter’s upcoming wedding, Suki lashed out, causing a bitter argument between mother and son. During the row, Vinny commented on how she’d driven Ash away; a brutal reminder of how unsupportive Suki had been when Ash came out as bisexual. As the episode ended, Vinny vowed to attend Ash’s wedding celebration in Canada, with or without his mum’s approval. And, as Suki and Vinny’s terrible confrontation continued, it became increasingly clear that there’s much unfinished business between Suki and Ash. This had fans more convinced than ever that Suki needs to reconcile with her daughter. And many agreed that the soap needed a Suki and Ash reunion, if only for Suki’s sake. This is why Ash needs to come back to Walford – There’s so much for them to unpack and Suki needs that closure,” wrote one fan on X. “I feel like suki’s going to support avani through the abortion and then priya and ravi are going to be absolutely fuming at her.. queue another reason for her and eve to leave for a while to go see ash,” predicted another. “With all the Ash mentions lately, Vinny and Suki clashing over him going to Ash’s engagement party, there is no way Vinny isn’t bringing back Ash (and potentially her fiancée) with him when he returns,” said a third. “Vinnie calling Suki out on her repressed homophobia & how she treated Ash as a result of it makes me rethink an Ash return. While she left on good enough terms with her mum, they once again grew estranged following her departure. Last month, Suki learned that Ash was now engaged – to a surgeon in her fifties – and registered her disapproval. “She’s old enough to be her mum!” she exclaimed, before sighing: “Ash has made it pretty clear that she doesn’t care about me. So why should I bother about anything she does?” The soap left the door open for Ash’s return, even if it does seem that she has settled and made a life for herself in Canada.
