And EastEnders continued its excellent revival under boss John Yorke’s care, with a very popular character comeback. Viewers were thrilled to see Charlie Cotton return to Albert Square with baby Matthew. Max Branning was a whole lot less happy to see him, though. Charlie revealed to Jack that his plan was never to take little Matthew away from him, he just wanted to be a part of his life… Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Viewers held their breath as it looked as though he was about to reveal Max masterminded him taking his son back… But then Max walked in and looked horrified.
