Sure, no-ones actually asked Eve yet, but Suki’s managed to get this far by herself. Suki learned that Avani had fallen pregnant with Joel’s child last week, and was shocked to learn that she was planning on having an abortion. Full of thoughts of daughter Ash and the abortion which had once come between them, Suki offered an alternative. And, as this week began, Suki was determined to have Avani carry the baby for her, following her granddaughter around Walford as she pressed on with the hard-sell. But Suki wouldn’t be so easily deterred and, after twisting Barney’s arm, followed her granddaughter to the clinic. While they waited for Avani’s appointment, she heaped on the emotional blackmail before offering a financial incentive. When Vinny returns from Canada, Eve takes the opportunity to talk to Avani alone. She also encourages Suki to speak to Vinny, in the hope that she can get the family back to some semblance of normality. The next day, after Avani’s scan, Priya finds a receipt from the hospital in her jacket pocket. Eve and Avani are forced to lie to her, keeping her in the dark about the pregnancy.
