It was recently revealed that the teenager had fallen pregnant after sleeping with Joel, leaving her torn over what to do next. Although she initially sought an abortion, she was talked out of it by grandma Suki, who convinced her to serve as surrogate. However, it soon became clear that this utterly insane plan wasn’t for Avani, and she soon had second thoughts. Avani went through with the termination this week, behind Suki’s back. She also told her parents, who were furious at Suki’s manipulation of their daughter. Also not happy about the pregnancy and abortion? Joel, who was absolutely fuming at not being consulted. And some wondered whether Joel might have tampered with a condom or even purposefully not worn one so as to get Avani pregnant. So did he mean for all this to happen/lie about using a condom/poke holes in it?” asked one fan on Reddit. “Well, he’s capable of anything so yes you wouldn’t put it past him to pull a stunt like that,” said another. A third wrote: “Definitely, he said women only purpose is breeding and sex is for reproduction so he Definitely did it deliberately.” “It’s disturbingly plausible that he sabotaged the condom or pressured Avani into sex without it,” said a fourth. However, given his initial shocked reaction to the pregnancy, this act of deliberate sabotage does seem unlikely, for now at least. Joel’s outburst left Vicki shocked (Credit: BBC) Joel threatens Vicki after almost attacking Avani Joel confronted Avani in last night’s episode (Thursday, August 14), publicly attacking her for aborting the pregnancy. As she snapped back, Joel raised his hand as if to strike her – although Vicki intervened, just in time. Afterwards, Vicki went to admonish him for his horrific behaviour. In response, Joel shared his theories on gender relations, telling her how the primary purpose of sex is reproduction. As his chilling rant continued, he went on to claim that women needed to be ‘re-educated to their purpose.’ He then threatened Vicki, telling her with a ‘slapping’ if she continued to push him.
