Howie Danes Oscar Branning Patrick Trueman Share By Joel Harley Aug 4 2025 By Joel Harley Aug 4 2025 Oscar Branning attacked Patrick Trueman in EastEnders tonight (Monday, August 4), knocking the old man unconscious after he caught him trying to steal his gambling money. Oscar had grown desperate for cash after Fat Mike raised his debt to £5000. After coming clean to Lauren, Oscar spent the day trying to raise the funds, even attempting to hit up Ian Beale with a made-up-on-the-spot investment opportunity. Sadly, Oscar’s scheming came to nothing, and he was no better off when the day started than as he was when it began. It was fortuitous for him, then, when he spotted Patrick collecting his winnings from the bookies. Not such good news for Patrick, who was caught in the act by Yolande. Furious that he’d defied her by continuing to gamble, she called the wedding off. Patrick collapsed to the floor (Credit: BBC) Oscar attack leaves Patrick unconscious That evening, as the family snuck out for a drink, Oscar crept into the family home to steal Patrick’s winnings. He was successful in bagging the cash, but was caught by Patrick. Appalled, Patrick tried to stop him from leaving, blocking the door. Oscar panicked, and pushed Patrick aside – accidentally knocking him to the floor, where he bashed his head. Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers What will Oscar do next? Oscar attempts to flee with Patrick’s money (Credit: BBC) Oscar makes a run for it With Patrick unconscious on the floor, Oscar begins to panic. He’s just about to leave when Howie returns. First hiding, Oscar makes a run for it, hiding his face as he flees. Kim and Denise return from the pub, and are shocked to see what’s happened. They accompany an inconsolable Yolande with Patrick to the hospital, while Oscar returns home. Seeing his concern for Patrick, Lauren soon grows suspicious. She catches him as he’s attempting to leave Walford with the stolen money. The next day, at the hospital, At the hospital, police officers arrive to take a witness statement from Howie.
