What time is EastEnders on tonight? Where and how you can watch amid continued schedule shake-up

It's been hard to keep track

What time is EastEnders on tonight? There’s been much confusion this week, with multiple changes to the soap’s release schedule on both BBC One and iPlayer.

Even today, early morning viewers were dismayed to find that the soap didn’t appear to be available for streaming this morning (Wednesday, July 16), flying in the face of its usual 6am release. It did appear soon afterwards, but this was yet another disruption to the already messy schedules.

This latest change comes amid the Women’s Euros Quarter-Finals, which will air today, tomorrow and on Friday at 7.30pm on BBC One. But when is EastEnders on BBC One today? And will this chaos continue next week?

What time is EastEnders on tonight?

EastEnders is scheduled to return to BBC One tonight at the earlier time of 7pm, before the scheduled football match. Those who prefer to stream the daily goings-on in Walford can also do so now, with the soap having now being made available on iPlayer.

Unfortunately, the chaos isn’t over yet. With the football still ploughing ahead, next week’s EastEnders will also be affected.

The week will start off with a double bill on Monday (July 21), then air as normal at 7.30pm on Tuesday. With matches expected for the rest of the week, it remains to be seen when Thursday’s episode will play – or whether it will stick to the usual iPlayer release – but we’ll keep you posted however it plays out!

But what’s happening in EastEnders tonight?

Phil attacks Johnny as he uncovers Johnny affair

In EastEnders tonight, Phil struggles with Nigel’s recent departure. Worried for his well-being, Linda invites him over for a chat at The Vic.

However, the situation takes a turn when he catches Callum with Johnny upstairs.  As they try to defuse the situation, Phil explodes and attacks Johnny. Back home, Jay and Callum beg Phil not to tell Ben or Lexi, but the Mitchells are more divided than ever.

Elsewhere, Oscar vows to knuckle down at the fruit and veg stall after learning about Jimmy’s blindness. And Stacey gets a surprising visitor.
