Airing next month, this will set up the soap for the year ahead, as it reveals how and why Max came to be in this latest sticky situation. Star Jake Wood recently teased a half hour ‘jam-packed’ with drama, but we still don’t know the specifics of Max’s flashforward. But what will it be about? Here’s our round up of all the biggest fan theories. All the clues hint to a wedding in 2027 (Credit: BBC) Fans predict Max Branning to remarry in EastEnders flashforward The biggest hint as to Max’s future is his choice of clothes in the promotional picture. In it, Max appears to be wearing a wedding suit. But who’s getting married? Some think it could be the man himself. Seems like he’s getting married again,” wrote one fan on Reddit. “Ok so Max is probably getting married New Years 2027,” said another. Will Max marry again? And if so, who’s the lucky woman? Jack and Denise reconciled this year (Credit: BBC) Jack and Denise to tie the knot If not Max, then some have wondered whether it might be his brother Jack who’s getting married. He and Denise rekindled their romance earlier this year (with a little help from the voting public at home), and have been on solid ground ever since. “Maybe jack and Denise getting married?” asked one fan. Another agreed: “I think it’ll definitely contain jack and Denise getting actually married this time instead of civil thing.” Would Jack really get married on the anniversary of his wedding to former wife Ronnie, though? Even for a Branning, that seems like it’s in bad taste. Has Max returned just for the soap to kill him of? (Credit: BBC) Max Branning to die in EastEnders flashforward? Another clue to the flashforward’s events is in the bloody flower on his lapel. Foreshadowing Max’s grisly fate, perhaps? And if so, might the soap be setting up another whodunnit? “Got a terrible feeling the New Years flash forward episode will lead to a “Who Killed Max Branning?” Where he’ll spend 2026 making lots of enemies and be killed by someone next New Year,” suggested one fan. “The flashforward episode will be a decade since Abi’s death where she fell off the roof of the Vic.
