Harvey's racist son explained as fans predict return Harvey shared his wisdom with Ross tonight Aaron Monroe Harvey Monroe Share By Joel Harley Aug 7 2025 By Joel Harley Aug 7 2025 Troubled Ross Marshall sought advice about Joel in EastEnders tonight (Thursday, August 7), as fellow dad Harvey filled him in on the life and crimes of his own son, the infamous Aaron Monroe. Ross has been having a tough time of it recently, with Joel growing increasingly obsessed with a toxic influencer and harboring some terrible views on women. This has resulted in Joel becoming persona non grata in Australia, and even assaulting a young woman on the tube. Harvey shared some insight into parenting (Credit: BBC) Ross and Harvey compared notes on parenting Befuddled dad Ross has weathered most of this, although he appeared to hit his breaking point last night, discovering a series of vile videos on Joel’s e-mail account. During the resulting argument, Ross described Joel as a ‘pervert’ and trashed the offending laptop. Who better to seek advice from, then, than Harvey Monroe, who himself had to deal with a radicalised son. But who was Aaron Monroe? And will he ever return to EastEnders? Aaron is Harvey’s son (Credit: BBC). Who was Aaron Monroe? Aaron arrived in Walford in 2021, joining dad Harvey and sister Dana on the Square. Soon after his arrival, it was revealed that Aaron was a violent racist and a member of a dangerous far-right organisation. He was also responsible for an attack on a taxi driver named Abdul Houssain, who they beat up so badly that he went blind in one eye. Wanting to protect his son, Harvey became complicit in Aaron’s crimes, providing a false alibi against his attack on Abdul. And, as the gang’s violence escalated to terrorism, Aaron became involved in an attempted attack on The Argee Bhajee. Harvey managed to talk his son out of this particular attack but, after learning that another was on the cards, reported Aaron to the police. Harvey’s witness statement led to several beatings behind bars from Aaron’s fellow inmates, but he was determined to do the right thing by the victims regardless. Aaron’s gang targeted Harvey next, beating him up when he refused to deliver a phone to his son in prison. When he visited Aaron, Harvey explained what had happened. After apologising to his dad for everything he’d put him through, Aaron was stabbed by a former associate. After making a full recovery, Aaron was transferred to a prison in Newcastle, where he is currently serving time for his crimes. Adding fuel to the fire is the fact that actor Charlie Wernham has recently vacated his role on Hollyoaks – meaning that the actor is now open to work. “Now Charlie Wareham has left Hollyoaks and with mentions of Aaron’s mother in tonight’s EastEnders during Harvey’s chat with Ross – I wonder if they’ll rebuild Harvey’s family at some point?” asked one fan on X. “The Aaron mentions since Robbie died on Hollyoaks. A possible return to EE???” suggested another. “Wonder if it will return albeit in prison and feature in the next Harvey storyline, ” a third wondered. Could Aaron return to EastEnders?
