It’s been a while since the siblings were together, and a whole eight years since viewers last saw Oscar. Now a strapping 17-year-old, Max and Tanya’s son is a long way from the angelic little kid we once knew. But there’s a big reason why he’s come back. Lauren soon discovers Oscar has run away from home. He reveals where he’s been and that he has no intention of reconnecting with their parents. Both Ian and Peter are wary of the teen’s intentions, but Lauren caves and agrees he can stay for a while. But on one condition – that he behaves. During a catch-up with his Uncle Jack, Oscar updates him on the situation with Max and Tanya and reveals how his relationship with them has grown increasingly strained. But having been cut-off by his parents, Oscar is in need of money. The newcomer proves he’s a chip off the Branning block by hatching a plan to scam Ian out of money. Oscar stages a fall in the chippie, and demands compensation for his ‘injury’. While Jack falls for it, Stacey watches on, amused by Oscar’s front. The idea of flogging apples and pears doesn’t initially appeal to Oscar, but Penny finds an innovative way to encourage him to give it a go. Unsurprisingly, Oscar’s first day on the market doesn’t get off to the best start. But that all changes when he discovers his baby nephew Jimmy is blind.
