Julie and Phil are beside themselves with worry. But can the pair put their differences aside and work together to help Nigel? Phil feels lost without Nigel (Credit: BBC) Phil is missing his friend in EastEnders spoilers Battle lines have been drawn between Phil and Julie, with both insisting they’re the best person to look after Nigel. Viewers will know Nigel had been living under Phil’s care after revealing his diagnosis with young onset dementia. But last week Nigel’s wife Julie, who’s been frantically searching for him, finally discovered his whereabouts. Julie arrived in Walford and declared she was taking Nigel back home to Scotland. But Phil, who couldn’t face the prospect of letting Nigel go, angrily objected to the idea. In the end he was forced to admit defeat. There’s been further unrest in the Mitchell household after Phil rumbled Callum’s fling with Johnny Carter. Raging over the betrayal, Phil now wants to punish Callum by bringing granddaughter Lexi to live with him. Their row is interrupted by the arrival of Julie who reveals Nigel has gone AWOL. Phil feels sick with worry as he tries to reach his mate. But in the end it’s Jay and Callum who save the day as they manage to track Nigel down. Phil and Julie try their best to support Nigel, but are stunned when he suddenly makes an announcement. Later, Julie retreats to the cafe where she confides in Jay. Meanwhile, Yolande takes it upon herself to speak to Phil about the situation with Nigel. Her words resonate and Phil ends up making an unexpected announcement. Despite both agreeing they need to try harder, Julie and Phil still have very different ideas of how to handle Nigel, as well as his likes and dislikes. Phil has a debrief with cousin Billy and concedes he needs to make more of an effort with Julie. Can the warring pair draw a line under the drama and call a truce for Nigel’s sake?
