5 EastEnders spoilers for this week: Vicki faces Joel in court as Mark Jr's return causes chaos

Vicki Fowler comes face-to-face with Joel Marshall for the first time since the attack in EastEnders spoilers for this week. This comes as his case goes to trial, with Vicki and Avani both taking to the stand as his victims.

As Joel puts on a front, the defence lawyer’s tactics soon have Vicki unnerved, causing her to rush out of court. Will Joel be held responsible for his vile actions?

Meanwhile, Mark Jr’s unexpected return puts Phil in a spot of trouble with Julie, and Elaine takes out her fury on Ian after being humiliated by George. Also, Bea finds a job opportunity at the Minute Mart with Honey.

1. Zack supports Vicki ahead of Joel’s trial in EastEnders spoilers

It’s the week of Joel’s trial, and Vicki’s head is in a tizz between the return of Mark Jr. and her upcoming testimony. Sensing Vicki’s nerves, Zack offers to support her by cooking a meal at the flat, where he’s testing new recipes for The Vic.

Vicki joins Zack for dinner, where she begins to unwind. However, thoughts of the imminent trial weigh heavily on her mind.

2. Vicki stands up to Joel in court

Vicki arrives at the court with Ross, while Zack races to the courthouse to show his support. Joel puts on a brave front as Tommy takes to the stand, but Vicki soon crumbles in the face of the defence lawyer’s approach, and rushes out of court.

Later, as the court resumes, emotions are at an all-time high for Vicki and Avani. Joel puts in a request to speak to Ross, who refuses.

Instead, he reaches out to another Walford resident, although things don’t go to plan. And, as the trial continues, events take a shocking turn.

3. Mark Jr scuppers Phil’s plans in EastEnders spoilers

Now back in Walford, Mark Jr. tells everyone that he’s back for Vicki’s trial. However, once alone with Phil, he reveals why he’s really returned – and begs for his uncle’s help.

Preoccupied by his exit to Portugal with Nigel, Phil refuses. When Julie returns from Scotland sooner than expected, Mark spots an opportunity, and tells her what Phil is planning.

How will she react to Phil’s plan?

4. The war between Ian and Elaine steps up a notch

After being humiliated by George, Elaine takes out her anger on Ian. When he retaliates, she and Linda are horrified to find that Peacock Palace has become front page news.

She storms over to confront Ian, and the situation escalates terribly when Kathy becomes caught in the middle. Later, she tries to apologise, but the Beales are having none  of it.

Ian pays a visit to Peacock Palace, and informs her that he’s running for Councillor Barker’s seat. Elaine decides to play Ian at his own game, and decides to put in a bid for the seat herself.

5. Bea looks to the future in EastEnders spoilers

Bea has no luck when she begins looking for a job. But when she helps Honey get rid of a shoplifter at the Minute Mart, she wonders if she could work alongside her new friend there.

The next day, Bea steps in when two teenage girls begin trashing the Minute Mart. She assists with the clean-up, impressing Vinny.
