With Nigel, Phil and his neighbours gathered for the premiere of his Christmas movie, an upsetting incident causes Nigel to spiral. After arguing with Phil and Julie, Nigel takes refuge in the closed Queen Vic. When his dementia symptoms intensify, Nigel struggles to decipher between past and present… and imagines conversations with old neighbours Pat and Barry Evans. Meanwhile, Phil comes to a difficult decision about Nigel’s future in Walford. Director Lexi takes control of the event, while Phil and Julie remain distracted by their continued argument over Nigel’s care options. As the residents gather at the community centre, Nigel and Julie take to the stage to introduce the film. However, Nigel notices a bruise on Julie’s face, and quickly realises that he was to blame. Growing confused, he is visited by old residents of Albert Square, including Barry and Pat Evans. Overcome with emotion, he kicks the residents out. Left alone with Nigel’s film, he comes to a sad realisation. Continuing the search for Nigel, Phil and Julie eventually find him in The Vic.
