Emmerdale follow-up: As Gail leaves the soap, here’s what Rachael Gill-Davis is doing next
Gail was very under-used during her time in Emmerdale
Emmerdale has aired Gail Loman’s exit from the soap, six years after she first arrived on our screens.
Gail’s exit was reported a while back, and many fans were furious that she had been so under-used over the years on our screens.
But tonight (May 7) she said goodbye to village life for good as she broke up with Ryan Stocks and left Emmerdale behind.

In recent episodes, Gail has been trying her hardest to get Charity to appreciate her work and her ideas.
After a conversation with Ryan, Gail thought she had created a great game where couples see who knows each other the best. But she failed to realise that game already exists – Mr & Mrs!
When Ryan and Gail were testing the game out, they realised how little they actually agree on, and how different their lives look. Which made Gail realise she had been living his life – not hers.
After speaking to Mary about how unhappy she was, Mary encouraged her to follow her dreams. And that’s what she did. But her dreams aren’t in Emmerdale, so she made the decision to leave and co-run a B&B with her friend in Devon.
Ryan was initially devastated by the news, but as Gail explained to him why she was doing it, he understood more and more.
What has Rachael Gill-Davis been doing since leaving Emmerdale?
Gail first appeared in Emmerdale six years ago. But she only became a permanent cast member in 2023. However, now her time in the village is up.
But away from the show, Rachael seems to be living her best life and having quite a lot of fun with her new spare time.
Over the last few weeks, Rachael has been keeping her fans updated on her travels around the world.
Sharing images of herself and her friends in different countries on Instagram, Rachael seems to be making the most of her time.
Just yesterday (May 6) she was hiking Pico Mijas – the highest peak in Sierra de Mijas, Malaga.
While we’re yet to hear about what Rachael’s next on-screen adventure will be, we can’t wait to support her in wherever she goes next!
