Manpreet currently has no idea that her ‘hero’ Joe is actually ‘her worst nightmare.’
But, could Joe’s cruel schemes against the local GP actually take a romantic turn?
Joe’s blackmailing of Manpreet in Emmerdale
Manpreet has a secret and a rather ‘dirty’ one at that; the goody two shoes GP has a side hustle posting explicit pics of herself online. And, Joe Tate’s using this to his advantage.
Catching sight of Manpreet’s online profile on Billy’s laptop, Joe put on his game face and drew his ace. Blackmailing Manpreet into handing over some serious cash, Joe then met her face to face but tricked her…
He made her believe that he wasn’t her blackmailer, arranging for one of his contacts to pose as the one behind the threats. Joe gave Manpreet £10k to pay off her blackmailer but insisted he didn’t want it back. Very suss. Why would THE Joe Tate do anything if not for his own gain? Come on, Manpreet. Think.
Manpreet was oh so thrilled with Joe’s generosity, desperate for a way to thank him. And, Joe subtly hinted at the way she could do this. By helping him encourage Caleb to get tested for AAT. Of course, this was entirely for the sake of Caleb’s health, Joe wouldn’t get anything out of this… Or, would he?
And, it didn’t take Manpreet long to give into Joe’s requests and summon Caleb to the surgery.
Fans call for Manpreet and Joe romance – but, will it happen?
After seeing Manpreet and Joe interact, fans have spotted some potential chemistry between the pair.
One fan shared: “Is it bad that I want Joe and Manpreet together? Really felt the chemistry this week.”
Another person replied: “Ssshhh we do too…,” and another tweet added: “It always works when they put two characters who never interact together.”
But, will they embark on a romance? Well, it looks unlikely.
One obvious reason for this is that Joe’s currently having an affair with Dawn. But then again, Joe will do just about anything – or anyone – when it comes to getting what he wants.
And then there’s Manpreet. It turns out Billy’s got the hots for her and has been viewing her profile online. And, we all know that Manpreet has always fancied herself a smooch or two with the village personal trainer.
So, will Manpreet and Joe ever become a thing? When the truth about the blackmailing comes out, we reckon not!
