And they demand that the show finds a way to bring her back. Debbie Dingle left the village back in 2021. And since then fans have only had rare and few mentions of her over the years. Sometimes characters go to visit her when they need a reason to be off-screen. But other than that, we haven’t really had much information about her life since leaving Emmerdale. But that changed last night (May 22) when we finally got an update. It wasn’t one anyone was expecting. And fans have been left absolutely fuming. And most of the time, she wasn’t even mentioned. But one person she really should be there for her her daughter, Sarah. Debbie leaving Sarah behind in the first place didn’t sit right with fans. But this latest update has left everyone annoyed. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Sarah called her mum for support ahead of her biopsy appointment. But Debbie didn’t give her time to talk as she revealed she has emigrated to Australia with her new beau, Chris. And her plane had just landed in time to see Sarah’s call. Not only that, but she and Chris had tied the knot three weeks ago, and didn’t bother to tell Sarah or any of the Dingles. Obviously, Cain and Charity were shocked at the news, reeling that their daughter has done all of this without telling them. Debbie didn’t tell her family about her wedding (Credit: ITV) Fans demand Debbie is recast Fans were left angry that this seems to be a permanent exit for the character, with many wondering why Emmerdale never made the decision to recast her. Taking to X, one wrote: “Just bloody recast Debbie Dingle!! It’s totally unbelievable that she would just up and leave Sarah.” “It’s pretty sad that they have effectively written Debbie out forever. The FA story with Sarah is pretty rare. They started it nearly 15 years ago and it’s finally progressing to a critical point and she’s not there” a fan penned. A third asked: “Why didn’t Emmerdale just recast Debbie and Jack? It would have made sense.” Another angry fan wrote: “Why don’t they just recast Debbie? This is just ridiculous.” Charley Webb had played Debbie from the beginning and so recasting the iconic character would be a huge move from the soap. But if she has decided it’s not in her future to return, recasting Debbie could bring about so many storylines.
