So posits an alternate theory, suggesting that John may have been trying to save Nate prior to his exit from the village. This came after a beating from his dad and a terrible barn fire, either of which could have been responsible for Nate’s death. But, with John apparently being the last person to see Nate alive, many have wondered whether he might have killed Nate and dumped his body in the lake. John’s almost certainly hiding something, but is he really a killer?
