In Emmerdale spoilers for next week, Ross Barton discovers he has a brother he never knew existed. Say hello to Lewis, the long-lost son of their late mum, Emma. The pair meet one another for the first time, but it’s far from a happy family reunion.
Ross are Moira learn a shocking truth in Emmerdale spoilers
The unexpected events unfold after Moira discovers an envelope addressed to ‘The Family of Emma Barton’. Inside is a letter, revealing Emma had another son, Lewis, who she never told anyone about.
Moira is floored by the discovery and fears her past crimes are about to be discovered. Viewers will remember Moira had a troubled relationship with toxic Emma. It all ended in tragedy when Moira pushed Emma to her death off a viaduct back in 2017. She confessed what she’d done to son Adam, who took the rap for her.
Consumed with guilt, Moira initially decides not to tell Ross about the letter, then changes her mind. When Ross reads its contents he’s thrown to learn there’s another Barton brother out there in the world. What will he do now?
Moira panics as Ross contacts Lewis
Ross struggles to process the news about Lewis and wants to bury his head in the sand.
Matty intervenes by encouraging Ross to make contact with his long-lost brother and points out that he’s got nothing to lose. His words manage to convince Ross it’s worth a shot and decides there’s no time like the present.
Ross announces he’s going to make contact with Lewis today, which throws Moira into panic. Is her killer secret under threat?
Ross rejects Lewis in Emmerdale spoilers
After arranging a meeting, Ross comes face-to-face with Lewis (played by Heartstopper star Bradley Riches).
From the word go, Lewis has lots of questions about their family he wants answering. However, Ross doesn’t feel comfortable with the level of interrogation and fears he may a dark secret slip out.
It soon becomes apparent Ross and Lewis aren’t able to discuss the past without causing upset to one another. So in the end Ross decides it’s best if he just walks away. He turns his back on Lewis, leaving him feeling rejected.
Returning to the village, Ross gives Moira a debrief on the day. He lies to his aunt, saying he and Lewis both agreed not to pursue a relationship. But is this the last they’ve heard of Lewis? And how much longer can Moira live with what she did to Emma?
