Aidan opened his eyes last night, and John’s world could be set to tumble down if the truth comes out. But is it possible he has yet another secret involving Aidan? He and Aidan were in love. There’s no denying that. And John is the reason Aidan was in the coma in the first place. But eagle-eyed viewers noticed something that may have a deeper meaning later on. From murdering Nate, framing Ella, to causing the slurry leak, he doesn’t live a boring life. But all of those secrets could start spilling out if Aidan were to tell anyone how he really ended up in hospital. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers When he was first introduced, we knew his name was Aidan Moore. But fans have noticed that the credits don’t seem to confirm that. And now they’re wondering if there’s another connection we don’t know about. In the ending credits for Emmerdale last night (May 20) Aidan did not appear – despite being a huge factor of the episode. And what’s even stranger is that his mum, Cathleen, didn’t have a surname. If Emmerdale hadn’t already given us the knowledge that his surname had once been ‘Moore’, people probably wouldn’t have noticed. But by giving him a full name, and then suddenly removing it, things become more questionable. One fan theorised: “Hmm. Why is it Aidan not listed on the credits? And his mum is just there as ‘Cathleen’ with no surname. What are they hiding? “The last time this happened was with Nicky, when they were concealing that he was Caleb’s son. Are Aidan and John married? Or is it something else?” While an Aidan and John marriage wouldn’t explain Cathleen’s lack of surname, it could indicate that they may be connected to other members of the village. And we just aren’t allowed to know yet. John and Aaron are set to get married next week (Credit: ITV) Is there more to Aidan and Cathleen? However, another fan dismissed the credit scene, thinking it meant they just weren’t important enough. “I just assumed that after next week maybe, we will not see either characters again so they weren’t deemed important enough to be given surnames. If John was already married to Aidan then surely it would look bad him not wanting to visit anymore – especially with his mum there?” But one fan remained adamant that the whole thing seems quite strange. Especially considering there is no information about the actor who plays him – despite being on our screens. They responded: “I find it odd they made a point of telling us in the show what his surname was. So why not have it there. And to not even have the actor playing Aidan listed as just ‘Aidan’ is strange. Why list the mother and not his?” Whether or not John and Aidan are married remains to be seen. But it would certainly throw a spanner in the works for John, as he is planning on tying the knot with Aaron Dingle next week!
