But if he starts talking, will John have to protect himself? Emmerdale fans have been impatiently awaiting the fall-down John Sugden ever since it was revealed that he did in fact kill Nate. Following that we learned that John will stop at nothing to keep his secrets safe – and is the true culprit of the slurry leak. But now that Aidan has opened his eyes, right before John is supposed to get married to Aaron, John could find himself in trouble. Unless he puts a stop to it. When Aidan Moore was first mentioned in Emmerdale, we all thought he was dead and in the past. But as time went on, we learned that not only were Aidan and John in a relationship – but he is also alive. It turns out John loved Aidan, and tried to save his life – but he ended up in a coma. Which is where he has remained ever since. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers While John did think there was never a possibility of him waking up, Aidan’s mum Cathleen remained convinced that her son will come back. Last night (May 20) her belief turned out to be true, as at the mention of John’s name, Aidan’s eyes flew open. But when John hears the news, he is going to have to work out how to handle the situation. And spoilers for next week show that John is plagued by nightmares of everything going horribly wrong. Could John target Cathleen? (Credit: ITV) John to target Cathleen next? But one person who could be in the firing line is Aidan’s mum, Cathleen. Especially if Aidan decides to fill her in on what really went down between him and John. Right now, Cathleen believes that John has been mourning the absence of Aidan. But in reality, he has been hoping Aidan doesn’t wake up. If Aidan remembers what happened, he could tell Cathleen. And then if she confronts John about it, things might end badly. Taking to X, one viewer wrote: “Well I’m going to guess that John is going to kill this lady once Aidan starts talking and says that John tried to murder him…” Another added: “Aidan will soon be spilling the truth about psycho John to Cathleen.” John has proved he will stop at nothing to make sure he remains looking like the hero. So, if Aidan starts talking to Cathleen, then she may have a target on her back.
