What is The Fortune Hotel?
The Fortune Hotel is billed as a ‘reality competition show’ that airs on ITV. It premiered in 2024 and is now returning for a second series. Ten pairs of competitors will stay at the hotel while trying to work out which one of them has a briefcase containing £250,000. Eight pairs will have been given empty cases, while one has the case with the cash in. Another contains an Early Check Out card, which will send the owners home.
The aim of the game is to use detective and bluffing skills to find the cash-filled case and keep it until the end.
Where is The Fortune Hotel filmed?
The Fortune Hotel is filmed in the Caribbean. Show producers hire out a real hotel for the series, which is located on the Grand Anse Beach in Grenada. This is one of the Caribbean’s most southern islands. The average flight time from London to Grenada is 10 hours and 40 minutes.

Can you stay there?
Holidaymakers can stay at The Fortune Hotel all year round, as it is a fully-functioning business. But be warned, it isn’t actually called The Fortune Hotel in real life.
The hotel is named Silversands Resort Grenada. It sits on the beach front in Grand Anse Beach and offers luxury accommodation, from ocean front rooms to private villas and penthouses. The cost of an ocean front room in August ranges from $600 and $1,400 USD per night, which is about £450 to £1,000. A one-bed penthouse will set you back $2,275 (£1,696). A four bedroom villa costs $5,140 per night (£3,835).
The hotel has a fancy spa and guests are promised they will “arrive as you are, and leave reborn”. There is also a hair and nail salon, fine dining restaurant and activities, including jeep and dune buggy adventures, sunset cruises and private pool parties.
Silversands Resort Grenada has the longest infinity-edge swimming pool in the whole of the Caribbean. It measures 100m (330ft) in length. It is also a salt water pool.

When can I watch series 2 of The Fortune Hotel?
The Fortune Hotel is returning for a second series on August 6, 2025, on ITV1 and ITVX. It will air at 9pm.
Announcing the news, ITV said: “This series promises an array of all new vital challenges, never before seen twists, high-stakes deception and of course, plenty more helpings of intense case-swapping drama in The Night Cap.”
The Night Cap is a daily ritual that sees the contestants gather at Lady Luck Bar. There, they decide whether to keep their briefcase or swap it.
Ten brand new pairs of contestants will check in, all hoping to get their hands on the £250,000 briefcase. They include best friends, a father and son duo, a mum and daughter, and also a pair of brothers.
One contestant, Guv, is a 28-year-old energy salesman and poker player. His poker skills will definitely come in handy!
Who won the first series?
Series 1 of The Fortune Hotel was won by Jo-Anne and Will, a mother and son from Sheffield. They ended up with £210,000 in their briefcase and were thrilled. But in a sweet gesture, they decided to hand £5,000 over to fellow contestants Samm and Aysha.
Jo-Anne and Will told their new friends they were to use the money for spoiling their children with a holiday.

Stephen Mangan returns
Actor and comedian Stephen Mangan will once again be presenting The Fortune Hotel. He returns as host for series 2 and is undoubtedly thrilled.
After filming the first series last year, he smugly admitted: “We took over the entire resort and I got to have a very nice suite without having to pay for it. The presidential suite was bigger than my house. It took me four minutes to walk from one side of the living room to the other, it was that big.
“I had a balcony that looked over the ocean which was west facing, so every night we got a view of the sunset and sunsets in the Caribbean are incredible.”
