Elsewhere, her daughter Sophie is adjusting to life as a single mum to three children.

Sue’s husband, Noel, meanwhile makes a devastating discovery following the death of his late-mum’s husband.

Here’s what we know about the new series of 22 Kids and Counting, including its start date.

One of the big storylines in the new series of 22 Kids and Counting is Sue’s weight loss journey. In episode 2, fans will see her reluctantly stepping onto the scales.

It comes after she receives some holiday pictures of the family. Zooming in on a snap, Sue gasps: “Oh god. How have I let myself put on so much weight?”

Sue, who has been through 22 pregnancies, tips the scales at almost 10st 13lbs. This is the heaviest she has ever been.

She exclaims: “Oh my word, is this broken?”

“I was always really good at bouncing back and losing the weight,” Sue says. And then I had Heidi, breastfed her for two years and then the weight really started to go on. I was eating more junk food than ever.”

Noel adds: “In recent years, we’ve been holidaying more in America. It’s just the worst place for junk food.”

Sue is concerned about her health. She has also received nasty messages from trolls on Instagram. One told Sue to “get herself on [weight loss] jabs”.  Another called her “mutton dressed as lamb”.

Fans will watch as Sue hits the gym and the swimming pool and changes her eating habits. But can she lose the 3st she’s hoping to shed?

What else will happen in 22 Kids and Counting?

Elsewhere, eldest daughter Sophie will be seen trying to navigate her new life. It’s been a year since she split up with husband Joe and she’s found herself in a rut.

Sophie has no intention of meeting a new man but she is hoping to start doing a few more things for herself, including running.

Noel also receives some shocking news. The will belonging to his late-mother Val’s husband Clive is made public – but Noel and his brother Ian aren’t in it.

The siblings’ mother had left everything to Clive when she died. She requested that her portion of their shared property was then given to Noel and Ian when Clive died. But Clive changed his will before his death.

“Clive had no children of his own, so he left a small portion of money to nieces and nephews, the cricket club, a grammar school and the RNLI,” Noel says, while reading the will.

Then comes the hammer blow.

“The property and the remainder of the estate – his money, stocks, shares and bank accounts – absolutely everything has been left to the cleaner,” Noel gasps. “He obviously thought a lot of the cleaner for whatever reason.”

Shocked, he continues: “My mum worked all her life and the bit she had left in the property was to come to me and my brother.

“We trusted Clive to do the honourable thing when he died and he just didn’t do it.”

There is further heartache when Noel discovers Clive has just “given away” his mother’s treasured accordion.
