BBC pulls second season of Ashley Cain’s documentary series

The BBC has decided to pull the second season of Ashley’s show after his offensive, historic tweets resurfaced.

The new run of the star’s documentary was filmed back in January of this year.

However, the BBC has now revealed that they have “no plans” to air it. It also confirmed it has “no future projects” with Cain.

The star, who shot to fame after appearing on Ex on the Beach back in 2014, used offensive terms to describe women in tweets made between 2011 and 2015.

Cain has yet to address the tweets in question.

“The BBC has clear requirements around vetting and social media checks, which are undertaken by the production company,” they then continued.

“In this instance, the process clearly failed, and we are investigating why. We are continuing to strengthen our processes to ensure everyone working for, and on behalf of, the BBC meets our values and standards,” they then said.

“We have no plans to broadcast the new series of Into the Danger Zone, and no future projects with Ashley Cain.”

It’s understood that the BBC was unaware of the tweets before working with Cain.

Ashley Cain: Into the Danger Zone

In a statement from earlier this week, the BBC said it “expects the highest standards of behaviour from everyone who works with or for the BBC.”

At the time of writing, the first season of Cain’s documentary series is still available on BBC iPlayer.

The series saw the former footballer turned reality star travel to some of the world’s most dangerous places. Whilst there, he interviewed men living on the fringes of society.

TV Guide has contacted Ashley’s representatives for comment.
