Coronation Street airs shock arrival for Jodie as dad Doug reappears and spoilers reveal her scheming against Shona ramps up
Doug is very wary of his daughterCoronation Street has aired the surprise arrival of Jodie and Shona’s dad, Doug, who made his comeback in tonight’s episode.
Ever since Jodie made her arrival during Corriedale, fans have been desperate to know exactly what’s going on with her character. And shortly after she joined, we met her and Shona’s dad briefly.
However, with tensions clearly still between them, Doug’s reappearance is bound to cause more trouble – especially when he grows concerned over his daughter’s behaviour.
Jodie and Shona’s dad Doug arrives in Coronation Street
Once again, Jodie and Bethany were going head-to-head in Coronation Street tonight. Earlier this week, Jodie discovered that Bethany had slept with Kit – and she was not happy.
Obviously, she decided she would use this information to her advantage. So, she headed to get her nails done by Bethany, before revealing she was off to visit Sarah in prison.
Bethany immediately was terrified that Jodie knew something, but after her own visit with Sarah, she realised she was just stirring the pot.
Having enough of her nonsense, Bethany headed over to Jodie’s to tell her to back off. But as the pair argued, they were interrupted by a knock on the door. And it was none other than Jodie’s dad, Doug.
Viewers will remember Doug was in the show briefly a few months ago. He appeared in a hospital, trying to warn Shona about how dangerous Jodie was.
However, he didn’t appear in the soap again – until now. And his return is set to cause even more chaos, as Jodie ramps up her own scheming.
Jodie’s scheming against her sister grows
Later in the week, Doug reveals he’s back on the meds and has his bipolar under control. Later, Jodie warns her dad not to rock the boat as she casts a longing look in David’s direction. Doug watches on, clearly disturbed.
Things only get worse from there, as Jodie’s agenda against Shona heats up. Next week Jodie enjoys making Shona suffer and reminds her she promised to bake for the school cake sale. She claims she can’t help and rushes off and it’s not long before Shona realises she’s burnt the cake.
Jodie is actually watching from the garden and when Shona takes a nap, she slips in. Doug and David arrive home and are horrified to find the kitchen full of smoke and Shona asleep. What has Jodie done? And is Harper okay?
Later, Shona is convinced she can hear Harper crying, but David has the baby and she’s smiley and happy. Upset Shona decides to go to the doctors.
Jodie later seizes her opportunity and comments to David he’s working so hard being a carer to Shona and a single parent. David is firm that this is just a blip. But how much further will Jodie go to get what she wants? And will Doug be able to provide more details about Jodie’s past?
