Harry Redknapp has spoken out for the first time following the explosive I’m A Celebrity final, calling it a “nightmare”.

Last week, things kicked off during the live final that saw heated accusations and tense confrontations on stage.

At first, eventual winner Adam Thomas clashed with Jimmy Bullard following their earlier fallout in camp. Then David Haye – who isn’t the biggest fan of Adam – got involved.

Now, fellow campmate Harry Redknapp has weighed in on the drama, insisting it was merely “banter”.

Harry Redknapp on ‘nightmare’ I’m A Celeb final

In the chaotic final of I’m A Celebrity South Africa, viewers watched as David and Jimmy clashed with Adam during the show, criticising his behaviour after their earlier fallouts in the jungle.

The pair both took aim at Adam over his infamous row with Jimmy during a trial.

What’s more, the tension even spilled over into a clash between Jimmy and Ant, after the presenter challenged his claims that Adam had been “intimidating”.

As things escalated, Sinitta was the first to walk off set, telling the audience she felt the atmosphere had become “aggressive and abusive”. Then, Gemma Collins walked off.

Harry had ‘never seen so much aggravation’

Appearing on Talk Sport recently, Harry was quizzed about the I’m A Celebrity final – and it appears the football manager was glad to see the end of the programme.

Andy Townsend asked him: “I’ve got to ask you, mate, if there wasn’t enough drama with York City, top of the premiership, top of the championships, bottom of the top flight, it’s all been happening

“I’ll bet you are delighted that I’m A Celebrity is all over. You’ve got to be thrilled at that.”

Harry replied: “I thought I’d gone to the wrong show. I thought it was The Jeremy Kyle Show. I’ve never seen so much aggravation. I thought I’m in the wrong studio here. All the crowd is shouting and things.

“Oh, it was a nightmare. I thought, you know, I’m not a celebrity… get me out of here. That’s what I was going to say.”

‘People couldn’t take a bit of banter’

Harry then went on to note that the remarks made by David and Jimmy were mild compared to the “banter” he has witnessed in over 50 years working in the football world.

“David was, you know, he was in good form, David Haye. But listen, Andy, we’ve been brought up in dressing rooms. You’ve been around football, you two guys, Andy, you know, all your life. Banter,” he shared.

Harry added: “This wasn’t strong banter compared to what you’ve had in dressing rooms over the years. You just get on with it, don’t you?

“It all got out of hand. You know, people couldn’t take a bit of banter and it became a big issue.”
