Jake Quickenden has defended I’m A Celebrity South Africa star Jimmy Bullard, despite allegations that Jimmy bullied him when they both appeared on the show back in 2014.

Jimmy was eliminated first from I’m A Celebrity back in 2014. His exit came after he was accused of bullying X Factor finalist Jake. At the time, Jimmy dismissed it as “banter”.

Now, following the drama with Adam Thomas, a clip of Jimmy from 2014 has resurfaced. In it, he is seen asking Jake what his “skill” is and why he was invited to appear on the show.

Now, as a result of this year’s explosive live final, Jimmy’s treatment of Jake has come back to haunt him.

Jimmy Bullard’s ‘banter’ from the 2014 series of I’m A Celebrity blasted

In the clip, Jimmy said to Jake: “The more I’m getting to know you, the more I’m thinking what the [bleep] is this [bleep] doing in here? What’s he offering? Like what, why the [bleep] are you in here? What are you? What sort of skill have you got?”

He continued: “World champ, fair enough. Professional footy player. What the [bleep] have you done? Picked a mic up?”

Jake responded that he’d said the same thing when he was asked to join the ITV show. “I don’t even know why I’m here myself,” Jake told Jimmy.

At the time, as a result of his actions, Jimmy faced backlash from viewers. However, speaking to hosts Ant and Dec in his exit interview, he insisted he was joking. “It’s banter, that’s all,” he said.

Now Jake, who was tagged numerous times in the clip, has responded, and he’s stuck up for Jimmy.

‘He didn’t bully me’

Jake posted in the comments section: “I’m gonna be honest here, bullying should be called out but he didn’t bully me here. He was my pal in there, we was having a laugh, he outdid me and I didn’t know what to say back.”

The singer then added: “He was trying to make me bite. Some people may see it different but I can say this, he didn’t bully me. He was actually so sound to me in there and ever since. He still messages me to catch up.”
