The dating show has been given the kiss of deathI Kissed A Girl is returning for one final run after the BBC decided to axe it – and now its start date has been confirmed.
Dannii Minogue will be back for series 2 of the “groundbreaking” dating show, which sees 10 single women attempt to meet their match.
The ladies’ first introduction to their potential partner will be as they lock eyes and kiss.

But have the experts got it right, or will their heads quickly turn at the sight of the other women?
The BBC has sadly confirmed the show has been cancelled. But not before we get a full series 2 run, so when does it start? Here’s what you need to know!
I Kissed At Girl series 2: Dannii Minogue returns
Dannii will be back at the helm of the new series. The LGBTQ+ ally and all-round Aussie icon will be overseeing the contestants’ summer of love at another stunning Italian Masseria.
But will the first kisses result in everlasting love?
The BBC says: “The singles may be matched on paper, but after that first kiss anything can happen. They are all free to explore new connections because in this Masseria, everyone’s a possibility.”

The new series will start on Tuesday June 23, 2026, with episodes 1 and 2 airing on BBC Three from 9pm. But for the eager fans among us, you can watch them on BBC iPlayer from 6am.
In fact, you can watch the first FOUR episodes of the 10-part series from 6am! If you are a real-time watcher, however, episodes 3 and 4 will air from 9pm on BBC Three the following night (Wednesday June 24).

Why did the BBC axe I Kissed A Girl?
The upcoming series will be the fourth in the I Kissed A… franchise. But sadly, the UK’s only queer dating show will be no more once this series has aired.
It was confirmed in March that I Kissed A… was being axed by the BBC. It was blamed on “funding challenges”.
A spokesperson said at the time: “We are exceptionally proud of I Kissed a Boy/Girl, the UK’s first dating show for the LGBTQ+ community. We would like to thank our fabulous Cupid Dannii Minogue and the entire team at Twofour for bringing the series to screen.
“Unfortunately, we have to make difficult choices in light of our funding challenges and there are no current plans for the show to return.”
However, the decision was met with backlash.
Jordan Burrow, who appeared in series 2 of I Kissed A Boy, said at the time: “I’m not even shocked at this point.”
He added: “We need that show now more than ever to provide representation, to provide a voice so people can see people that look and act like them on the TV.”
Sob.
