Lie with Me is one of those Channel 5 thrillers where the filming locations are as enticing as the plot. And, just like the recent Jo Joyner series Riptide, leading actress Charlie Brooks flew across the world for the role.
She plays a Brit who moves to the other side of the globe in the hopes of getting a fresh start with her two children and husband Jake. Anna, still wounded from her husband’s infidelity back in the UK, hopes they can turn a new leaf.
But it doesn’t quite work out like that. When Anna resumes her career, they hire a young live-in nanny to help. But local girl Becky is anything but the innocent stranger she pretends to be… And Anna’s new life Down Under turns into a living nightmare.

Where is Channel 5 thriller Lie with Me set?
The Charlie Brooks series Lie with Me introduces the Fallmont family. Anna, Jake, and their two children move to Melbourne, Australia, for a fresh start after his infidelity.
And, unlike many C5 thrillers that are set in one place but filmed elsewhere, this one was filmed exactly where it’s supposed to be.
Talking about filming in Australia, Charlie said when the series was first released in 2021: “The filming locations we used for Lie with Me were unbelievable.”
What filming locations were used for Channel 5’s Lie with Me?
Cast and crew of Lie with Me filmed the Channel 5 thriller in and around Melbourne, Australia. Alongside Sydney and Perth, Melbourne is one of the largest cities in Australia.
Melbourne is actually the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Victoria. The city centre, which features heavily during Anna’s office scenes, is the modern Federation Square development, with plazas, bars, and restaurants.
The cast and crew of recent thrillers Riptide and The Imposter also filmed in Melbourne.
Where was the house filmed?
The star of the show is definitely the Fallmont house. The massive, modern mansion in the Channel 5 thriller Lie With Me is located in Montrose, an affluent beachside suburb of Melbourne.
The luxury home is the central focus of the series, and is where most of the action takes place. It’s notable for its glass walls and dark wood design.
The estate is located at 3 Pickwood Close at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges in Montrose. The property features a distinctive stately circular driveway, manicured gardens, and a pool.
The 11.5-acre property, also known as Rapale, has set several suburb price records, most recently selling to a high-profile family. However, while the outside of the house was used, some of the interior scenes were also filmed on studio sets in Melbourne.
Talking about the Lie with Me filming locations, and specifically the house, Jake actor Brett Tucker said: “We filmed in Montrose, which is just past the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, out in the mountains. It’s close to where I grew up. It’s just stunning out there. In fact, the house and the property really are a big character in the story, so we needed to up our game to match the location because it was stunning.”
Charlie Brooks added: “The house envy was real. I can remember the first time we walked into that place, it was like she’s really rich! There was a pool that I never got to go into unfortunately, a running track in the back yard and a life-size Jurassic Park dinosaur actually growling and moving in the garden!”
What other filming locations were used on Lie with Me?
- Production filmed the interiors of the Fallmont house in the same studio where they shot the soap Neighbours. Brett Tucker described this as “kind of bizarre”, having worked on the Aussie soap for 18 years.
- You might recognise the 888 Collins Street building in the Docklands area of Melbourne, which features a distinctive pointed facade.
