The Crow Girl series 2 has landed after the explosive events of the first series, and there are some missing faces from the cast – as well as some new characters.
The new six-part series arrives on Paramount+ this week after what has felt like a very long 18 months. And it picks up exactly where it left off – with viewers’ jaws on the ground having discovered Dr Sophia Craven’s true identity.
Series 2 welcomes back many of the same cast members. These include Katherine Kelly as Sophia, Eve Myles as DCI Jeanette Kilburn, and Victoria Hamilton as Superintendent Verity Pound.
But there are also some notable absences, and some new faces – some of, we have to say, feel frankly bizarre. So who’s new in the cast of The Crow Girl series 2? Here’s a rundown.
Is Dougray Scott in the cast of The Crow Girl series 2?
Those of you who enjoyed the chilling thriller back in 2025 will know that Dougray Scott portrayed DI Lou Stanley. Lou worked alongside DCI Jeanette Kilburn, and they were friends as well as colleagues.
However, their relationship skidded to a halt when Jeanette discovered he was corrupt in the events of series 1. As a result, Scottish actor Dougray is not in series 2.
DI Lou Slater was exposed as a corrupt cop. DCI Jeanette Kilburn had the difficult task of reporting her partner. It was tough as he felt like family to her. By the end of the series, we realised Jeanette had terrible taste in friends – and lovers. So perhaps we shouldn’t have been surprised.
Jeanette discovered that Lou had used his position to sleep with a vulnerable witness. He also encouraged asylum seekers to sell drugs for money – making a profit for himself in the meantime.
Silent Witness’ Richard Lintern stars as Piers Stirling
Somerset-born actor Richard Lintern, 63, stars as Piers Stirling in the cast of The Crow Girl. He’s a new character in series 2 and, without too many spoilers, is a thoroughly unpleasant bloke. The role is quite the change for actor Richard. He is most famous for playing beloved Dr Thomas Chamberlain in Silent Witness from 2014 to 2020. Fans of the show were devastated when he died after succumbing to a nerve agent which bypassed the charcoal filters in his suit.
Richard first appeared on TV in 1988 when he played a Prince in The Storyteller. Readers of a certain age may remember him as Daniel Page in the period drama The House of Eliott, before we won the role as James Bromwich in space drama Jupiter Moon.
In 2004, Richard played Ben Norton in the police drama Heartbeat. After playing DCS Richard Patterson in the 2011 drama The Shadow Line, he went on to play Colonel Lassard in Spies of Warsaw.
More recently, he’s appeared in Young Wallander, Cell 8, Dalgliesh, and The Deal. He also played the Bishop of Hereford in the 2025 series Robin Hood.
Zoe Telford plays Catherine Lintern in the cast of The Crow Girl series 2
Norfolk-born actress Zoe Telford, 52, stars as Piers’ wife Catherine. What you see is NOT what you get with her.
Zoe recently portrayed consultant Dr Kate McAllister in the cast of Malpractice series 2, but she’s known for a range of roles dating from the early 90s.
Silent Witness fans will know she recently reprised her role of Chief Superintendent Jane De Freitas in series 28’s Homecoming Part 1 and 2. The intuitive character was first seen back in 2015 in series 18’s two-handed Sniper’s Nest. She was a DCI back then, when a shooter was at large in London.
Zoe has been on our screens since 1993 when she first popped up in The Bill as Helen Shaw. Throughout the 90s, she went on to appear in episodes of Soldier Soldier, Peak Practice, and Invasion: Earth. Most notably, she portrayed Roe Germaine in the apocalyptic series The Last Train – also starring The Split’s Nicola Walker.
Zoe subsequently played Maggie in the school drama Teachers, Alison Jackman in Absolute Power, Dr. Jane Cameron in The Golden Hour, Abigail Thomas in The Palace, and Nicola Curry in Place of Execution.
Other notable roles include Anna Klein in Criminal Justice, Sandra Rampton in Collision, Marianne Swift in The Thick of It, and Claire Sutton in the rebooted Yes, Prime Minister.
In 2015, she played Bella Cross in the first ever series of brilliant detective drama Unforgotten. More recently, Zoe has portrayed Dr Kitty Gray in The Lazarus Project, the ill-fated Dr. Amber Hurst in thriller Red Eye, and Helen McGuire in Showtrial.
Comedian Rhona Cameron pops up in bizarre cameo
Dundee-born Rhona Cameron, 60, pops up as an unnamed doctor in the cast of The Crow Girl series 2 (episode 4). It’s an understated role for the former stand-up comedian. As well as her comedy career, Rhona is perhaps most famous for appearing in the 2002 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! It was the very first series, and she was eliminated fourth, having divided viewers.
She famously went out with Sue Perkins, and went on to appear on Celebrity Wife Swap with her partner, Suran Dickson, in 2009.
Although she played herself in the 2000 sitcom Rhona, these days she has turned more seriously to acting. Over the past decade, she has popped up in episodes of Casualty, Back to Life, Silent Witness, Bloods, and Six Four.
In 2025, Rhona portrayed Una Struan MSP in the comedy police drama The Chief.
Strictly star Jayde Adams stars as receptionist Becky Guthrie
Bristol-born Jayde Adams, 41, is a British comedian, actress, and writer. She is best known for her stand-up comedy, her role in the sitcom Alma’s Not Normal, and her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022.
She plays slightly tetchy receptionist Becky Guthrie in episode 2 of The Crow Girl. For all of about two minutes.
Outside of stand-up, Jayde is known for hosting Channel 4’s Snackmasters and Crazy Delicious. As an actress she’s appeared in the likes of Good Omens, The Outlaws, and Alma’s Not Normal. She also led the cast of her own sitcom Ruby Speaking – opposite Katherine Kelly – in 2023.
Jayde is also a regular on comedy panel shows such as Yesterday, Today & The Day Before, Would I Lie To You and CelebAbility.
