The Ex-Wife series 2: Filming locations include beautiful European island where Tasha is living under a false identity
Tasha is living somewhere pretty, but her life is hell
The Ex-Wife is back with a series 2 and, although the cat-and-mouse tension hasn’t changed, the filming locations have.
In series 1, viewers met Tasha and Jack, an apparently happily married couple living in a perfect modern home in London. It was a huge house, reflective of Jack’s important job as a media executive. Although the thriller was set in London, the series was actually filmed in Budapest, Hungary. This isn’t unusual at all – dozens of shows have duped viewers recently, including The Game, Number One Fan, and Girl Taken.
Series 2, meanwhile, was filmed in another gorgeous European location. This time with a bit more sunshine. But don’t expect Tasha to be living the bohemian life of a beach babe. Nope, she’s on the run from her husband Jack, whose controlling and obsessive nature nearly killed her. Of course, she has her daughter Emily with her, too. Viewers will know she faked Emily’s death in order to get away from her husband – an act which ultimately landed him in jail.
So where is The Ex-Wife series 2 set and what filming locations were really used? Here’s everything you need to know as the thriller lands on Channel 5, after its original Paramount premiere.

Where is The Ex-Wife series 2 set?
The Paramount thriller, now arriving on Channel 5, is set in Larnaca, Cyprus. This is where Tasha has been living under a new identity ever since escaping the clutches of her simmeringly violent husband Jack at the end of series 1.
In fact, Tasha is living in near-poverty. It’s a far cry from how she lived in series 1. In The Ex-Wife series 2, Tasha and her daughter Emily are living in rather shabby shared digs, and Tasha can barely afford to pay the rent. She’s dining and dashing in cafes, and cleaning to make ends meet.
She may have a beautiful beach and an ocean at her fingertips, but she’s not exactly living her best life…
Meanwhile, we find her husband in Wormwood Scrubs, while other main characters Jen, Sam, and Jack’s sister Hayley are all living in London. Although we see aerial shots of the London, none of the series was filmed there.the ex-wife.

Where was the thriller really filmed?
The Ex-Wife series 2 really was filmed in Cyprus, and mostly in the coastal city of Larnaca – exactly as it claims. Larnaca is a major city on the southern coast of Cyprus, known for its laid-back charm, sandy shores, and coastal promenade (often referred to as Finikoudes) lined with palm trees.
It’s also got its own airport, which makes filming there even more convenient. In fact, Larnaca is home to Cyprus’ main airport, Larnaca International Airport, located just outside the city center. Unsurprisingly, Larnaca is a popular tourist destination because of its sunny beaches, historical landmarks, and a lively nightlife scene. This is a place where culture meets more common additions, like Pizza Hut and McDonalds.
The area is a growing hub for tourism and investment, with many beachfront developments and luxury apartments. It has been rapid real estate development recently, and there are some pretty fancy houses. Just some of these are featured in The Ex-Wife series 2.

The Ex-Wife series 2 filming locations: Where is Maria’s stunning house?
Tasha works as a cleaner in some beautiful – and gigantic – homes. And there’s one in particular that features quite heavily as a filming location in The Ex-Wife series 2. That’s the architecturally stunning house of Maria. It has a pool to die for, and integrated landscaping.
This modern home is, in fact, the “Well 58” residence located in Mosfiloti, Cyprus. Mosfiloti is located in the Larnaca District of Cyprus, roughly 21–25 km (about 20-30 minutes by car) northwest of Larnaca town and its airport. It is a rural, hilly village known for its pine trees and proximity to the Ayia Thekla monastery.
Designed by EKKY Studio Architects, the house consists of two identical mirrored volumes connected by an enclosed bridge. The building is constructed from fair-face planked concrete, glass, and steel. Exterior metallic elements extend from the volumes to create sculptural shadows, and an excavated path runs between the buildings.
The project was completed in 2018, and sits within a pine forest, designed to blend with the natural surroundings. It’s owned by a private buyer, who allows film crews to set camp there occasionally. Oh, how we’d kill to live in a house like this. No wonder Maria has a gun!

What other key filming locations were used in The Ex-Wife series 2?
- Aerial shots in the C5 thriller show the Church of Saint Lazarus located in the heart of Larnaca, Cyprus. This Byzantine-style church was constructed in the late 9th century and is dedicated to Lazarus of Bethany, a biblical figure. The plaza surrounding the church is a popular area filled with cafes and restaurants. It’s a significant pilgrimage site, as the church is believed to house the tomb of Saint Lazarus.
- We first find Tasha living in a downtrodden house. These were filmed in the historic streets of Larnaca old town, just behind the popular Finikoudes promenade. Known as the Skala (old Turkish quarter), this charming district features narrow alleyways, and whitewashed buildings with colourful shutters.
- When Tasha makes a dash to leave Cyprus, we see vehicles loading onto the Daleela ferry, a Ro-Pax vessel operated by Scandro Holding Ltd. The ship operates a passenger route connecting Limassol, Cyprus, and Piraeus, Greece.
- Although aerial shots show the residential buildings and lush green spaces of North London’s Hampstead, cast and crew filmed entirely in Cyprus. Production merely used drone shots of the UK capital city to set the scene.
- A small studio set housed locations such as the police station, while a short drive down the road there’s a large open-plan villa where Jack and Tasha meet for the first time in three years.
‘Local restaurant institution Stou Roushia became a cast favourite’
Talking to Radio Times Travel last year, actor Tom Mison described the perks of filming in Cyprus. He said: “A Cypriot friend told me I’d have the best time and come back twice the size, and it’s completely true!. If I went to a restaurant and left some food on my plate because I was saving myself for the next course, waitresses would pour it back on the plate! I think they wanted to fatten us up.”
Local restaurant institution Stou Roushia became a cast favourite. Céline Buckens said: “I’ve only ever had grilled halloumi before, but here they fry it with oil and green citrus dressing and it’s mind-blowing.”
Elsewhere, the cast enjoyed a cocktail bar called Granazi in the Cypriot capital of Nicosia. Jordan Stephens, who plays Tasha’s friend Ben, fell in love with the city’s “dusty mystique”, while Katie McGrath – aka Jen – lingered in its “nooks and crannies”.
