The Neighbourhood is set to air on ITV tonight – but who are the six families taking part?

The brand new ITV reality show – hosted by Graham Norton – sees real-life families move into KeepYourEnemies Close, a fictional road in a picture-perfect English village.

In a bid to win a huge £250,000, the families have to battle it out in the “street-sized popularity contest”.

It is not known just yet what the households will do each day to try and stay on the street, but Graham previously revealed that they will be “competing in huge challenges”.

So, what do we know about the six families moving into the village on The Neighbourhood?

The Neighbourhood families: The Kandolas and Samra

The Kandolas and Samra are a blended family from Bedfordshire, made up of mum Learning Support Advisor Tony, a Business Development Manager. The pair are joined by Sunita’s son Ruben, a hotel bartender, the youngest of her three children.

Talking about why they decided to apply for the show, Tony said: “We want to do our best to win the show so hopefully Ruben could move out!” Meanwhile Sunita shared: “For me, it was really important to represent our community and to highlight we’re a blended family.

“Between us we’ve got six adult kids and grandchildren. We wanted to break away from the stigma that Asian women should be a certain way.”

Another family on The Neighbourhood are proud Scousers and twin sisters Louise and Lyndsey, who are joined by Lyndsey’s girlfriend Rosie.

Talking about signing up for the show, barista Lyndsey revealed: “We always say we don’t want our every day to look the same. I feel like when the opportunity came up we were like, ‘Of course’.”

Louise added: “We’ve got to do it. What other chance would you get to do something as mad as this? Let’s do it.”

Rosie also said: “I felt like all of us were sitting ducks in the way that our lives were. We hated our jobs, so something that was going to pluck us out of our everyday life and put us in this simulation for however long – why not?”

The trio live together, and when asked what makes them a good team Rosie said: “I think the way we’ve got each other’s backs. Not in a way where we’ll blindly egg each other on to do whatever we want to do, but in a way that we’re close enough to say, ‘I don’t think you should say or do that’. ”

Louise also added: “We’ve got an interesting dynamic as well with me and Lyndsey being twins and with Lyndsey and Rosie being a couple and me and Rosie being best mates as well.”

The Bradon family

The Bradon family spreads across three generations. The family of five from Essex, include mum Faye-Marie, her daughter Alicia, sons Lucas and Nathan, and Nathan’s teenage son Zach.

“I think it was an opportunity for us all to be together, to spend that time intimately within the household because a lot of us are often away with work and things like that,” Nathan said when asked about applying for the show.

He added: “We wanted that opportunity to have that time together, bonding and of course there was the opportunity to win £250,000 which would be very beneficial to all members of the family!”

The family also have a strategy and game plan. Teaching assistant Nathan said: “I think what is going to benefit us is that there are quite a few of us. There are a varying degree of skill sets and we all get on very well! I think that will help us to build as a team and do well.”

Made up of Paul and Wendy, and their children Grace and Harrison, The Pescud family are from Cambridgeshire.

Talking about joining the show, Drug & Alcohol Service Manager Paul said: “We thought about it and we thought it’s going to be really interesting and something different to do. We don’t know anybody who has been on a reality programme. It was interesting and exciting, and especially as it was as a family.”

The family have big plans if they win the cash prize too. 18-year-old student Grace said: “I would go travelling across the whole world – every continent.”

Paul then quipped: “If we were to win, Grace has already worked out the calculations of how much everyone gets – an equal share. For our part of it, one of our dreams has always been to have a campervan to travel around Europe. We’ve travelled quite a bit previously – that would be really, really exciting.”

Meanwhile Harrison, a bakery retail assistant, revealed: “Mine would be towards a house deposit or potentially an engagement ring for my girlfriend.”

As for why they applied for The Neighbourhood, journalism student Fahad said: “When the opportunity came through, I couldn’t say no. I had to pick the right people and these are the right people.

Media student Kevin also shared: “This was a big opportunity to take – growing up my brother and mum always told me to take opportunities.”

The pals live together and they reckon they are quite a good team. Kevin explained: “I think we’re all quite different, so when we have conversations we all have something to bring in.”

“I feel like it enhances our dynamic because we’re all funny, we all roll off each other, we’ve got a really good friendship dynamic that other people can see.”

Business student Hadi added: “I feel like we’re all very competitive, everyone’s got di erent skills – a bit of everything.”

The Lozman-Sturrocks

The Lozman-Sturrock household, from Darlington, is made up of Christine, her husband Dave, her son Jordan and Jordan’s wife Katie.

When asked why they applied for the show, 67-year-old Dave, a Retired Production Manager for a Lighting Company, declared: “To represent the older generation!”

Wife Christine, 72, added: “I’m growing old disgracefully. I’m still very, very competitive and that’s what I wanted to show. There is still life in us – we can still take part and have fun. Also, to represent the North! I wanted people to see we’re good people, kind and inclusive.

“When you get into your 70s, you don’t get many chances to do many firsts. We’re very sociable people and we love being with people.”

As for their strategy and game plan, Dave said: “We’re going to look at it from the point of view that any decisions we need to make, we’ll make them together. As it’s a new concept, we don’t know what it’s going to be like. I’m not a great watcher of reality television. It’s going to be an eye-opener for me!”
