Ant and Dec reveal when the first elimination on I'm A Celebrity South Africa will take place

'It is time for the first celebrity to leave the camp for good'
Nancy Brown

I’m A Celebrity South Africa aired at a later time on Tuesday night (April 14), after football delayed the start of our Ant and Dec fix, and soon we’ll be getting our first elimination.

Monday night’s episode ended on a cliffhanger, with viewers waiting to find out if the Lions or the Rhinos won the Bushtucker Trial.

Harry Redknapp’s Lions – David Haye and Ashley Roberts – went head-to-head with Jimmy Bullard’s Rhinos, campmates Adam Thomas and Craig Charles. But, as Ant and Dec were about to reveal the results of the trial, the ITV show ended.

And, on Tuesday’s show, view had to wait just that little bit longer to find out who won food for their camp…

ITV schedule shake-up hits I’m A Celebrity

I’m A Celebrity South Africa was on a little later on Tuesday night. England Vs Spain aired on ITV1 from 6.30pm, as the Lionesses took part in the Women’s Euros Qualifier.

Harry Redknapp would’ve been proud, as the Lionesses stormed to victory.

What happened on I’m A Celebrity?

On Tuesday (April 14), the campmates continued to live in either the Lion or Rhino camp, with Main Camp divided by a wall. It’s a move that many viewers aren’t happy with. In fact, some have been asking when it’ll be over and the camp will be united once more.

Seann, Beverley, Mo and Sinitta were taking on the trial, getting the shock of their lives after seeing Ant and Dec waiting for them high above a cliff. “Oh my god, I don’t like the look of this” said Seann.  And he wasn’t wrong.

Ant and Dec explained that they’d all be leaning over the cliff edge, suspended by five individual ropes while asked general knowledge questions. The first celebrity to buzz in with the correct answer got to nominate a fellow opponent to cut one of their ropes. However, if was an incorrect answer, they had to cut one of their own ropes. Once all five ropes had been cut, the celebrities fell from the cliff edge and down into the terrifying abyss below.

So who plunged off the cliff and who emerged victorious? Let’s just say David Haye wasn’t happy and went to bed hungry!

When will the first campmate be eliminated?

But even more exciting than that was news of the first elimination.

I’m A Celebrity South Africa has been pre-recorded. This means fans aren’t voting for their favourite campmates or who takes part in trials. Trial participants are decided within the camp. The campmates then choose between themselves which star will be booted off the show. The winner – the star who’ll be named show Legend – will be decided in the live final on April 24.

Last time around, the first elimination of the series was a double, with two stars exiting camp. The series started on April 24, 2023. The first elimination came on April 28 – just five days in!

This time around, we’re already on episode seven. However, at the end of Tuesday’s episode, a flash forward showed that the campmates will be waving goodbye to their first bush pal in Wednesday’s episode.

“It is time for the first celebrity to leave the camp for good,” Dec said in the teaser, to the shocked campmates. You can find out who goes in Wednesday night’s episode.
