What happened to Loose Women as ITV finally confirms the return date of the lunch time show
Not long to go!Loose Women is set to return to our screens as ITV finally confirms when the daytime show is back.
Since September 1999, Loose Women has remained a prominent fixture on ITV. In September 2024, it celebrated its 25th anniversary, marking Britain’s longest-running all-female panel show.
However, over the past month, Loose Women has been kept off air.

What happened to Loose Women?
Last year, ITV made several cuts to its daytime TV shows, and Loose Women was hit with major news when the network suddenly announced it would only air on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks from 2026.
While Loose Women is produced by ITV Studios, it is now broadcast from a new location in central London. Not only that, there is no longer a live audience.
Lorraine Kelly’s daytime show was also slashed in half, now only running for just 30 minutes. Off air currently, it has not been announced when it is set to return.
At the time, the Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, Kevin Lygo, explained the changes.
“Daytime is a really important part of what we do. And these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust. As well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres,” he said.

“These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output. And to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.”

When does Loose Women return?
ITV announced that Loose Women will return later this month on Monday, 27th April.
They confirm that the panelists will be “back to continue tackling taboos, leading the conversation on some of the biggest topics of the day and of course, lots of lunchtime laughs”.
It has not been revealed which panelists will be appearing for its first show back.
