At Home With The Furys is back for a new series and is chaotic as ever – but why has eldest daughter Venezuela got an ‘Irish’ accent?

Fans have been scratching their heads after hearing the now 16-year-old speaking in the Neflix show.

Venezuela is the eldest of Paris and Tyson Fury’s seven children and is on course to becoming a successful online influencer.

In the first episode of the show, the teenager was shown looking after her younger siblings while their parents were abroad.

Venezuela was being helped by Paris’ mum, but took on the job of cooking the children’s dinner.

However, when she opened her mouth to speak, fans were all left asking the same question. Why does Venezuela have an apparently ‘Irish’ accent?

“It isn’t hard watching my little brothers and sisters really. Controlling them is, but actually watching them ain’t,” she says.

“I would like to have my own children hopefully at one point. I think every girl my age wants a family and a husband and a nice home.”

But taking to X, some viewers were baffled by her noticeable accent – confusing it for an Irish twang. Both Tyson and Paris have northern English accents.

“When did Venezuela pick up an Irish accent??” one fan asked. Replying, another said: “I was thinking the same thing!”

And someone else wrote: “Think it comes out when she’s [bleep-ed] off!”

What is the truth behind Venezuela’s accent?

Irish fans have been quick to knock back suggestions that Venezuela has an Irish accent. Many have dismissed the suggestion online, saying it is absolutely NOT Irish.

So what is the truth?

The teenager actually appears to have a twang of Irish accent mixed into her northern English accent. This is likely due to her paternal grandparents, Amber and John Fury, being Irish Travellers.

John, who stars in At Home With The Furys was born in Galway, Ireland. His family was also of Irish Traveller heritage, although he moved to Manchester when he was four.

Born Paris Mullroy, Venezuela’s mum was also raised in an Irish Traveller family. But like her husband Tyson, she grew up in England. Paris’ family settled in Doncaster.

Venezuela, like her seven siblings, is deeply rooted in her family’s Irish traveller heritage. In fact, she even considered having an Irish wedding.

The teenager has now left school and her fiancé, Noah Price, is also of traveller decent. He lives on a caravan park with his parents.

The simple explanation is that Venezuela has picked up an Irish-sounding twang from hanging out with her close friends in the Irish traveller community and from her grandparents.

It’s as simple as that!
