As well as Jasmine taking the stand, we also saw Penny show Nicola the fake DNA test results.

Meanwhile, Ross discovered how long Joel would be behind bars for.

Penny tricked Nicola

After getting the fake paperwork from Oscar, Penny waited for Nicola to come home from the hospital after visiting Ivy. Nicola was annoyed to find Penny helping Harry with the accounts for the bar, and once he was out of earshot, Nicola reminded Penny she wanted her to take a test.

Penny shocked Nicola by saying she had already done the test and presented her with the fake paperwork. Nicola seemed to buy it, much to Penny’s relief. However, Nicola gave Penny a word of warning, telling her that if she ever came between Harry and Gina, it would be the last thing she did.

Ross learned Joel’s fate

Vicki was shocked when Ross returned from Joel’s sentencing and told her that the teenager had got six months in a young offenders’ institution.

Knowing this would mean Joel could be back on the Square before Christmas, Vicki was visibly shaken. The pair talked about what they would do once Joel was released, and they promised to face the decision together.

But will this extra pressure on their already fragile relationship be too much?
