Denise fell asleep at work today (Credit: BBC) Denise hid her mysterious health concern Last month, Denise spoke to Sam and explained that she had felt more tired than usual. She put the problem down to her age, but Sam didn’t seem convinced. Sam expressed concern about Denise’s lack of energy, but Denise just brushed off her concerns, pointing out she was busy like other mums who were juggling having kids and running a business. However, today’s episode saw Sam arrive at the salon for her hair appointment, only to find Denise asleep on the sofa. Sam joked that she was going to help herself to the beauty products while no one was looking, just as Denise woke up and caught her out. Denise was adamant that she would do Sam’s hair. But as she stood, she seemed woozy, and Sam wasn’t having any of it. Sam decided that Denise wasn’t herself and needed to go home, so she asked Josh to rearrange all of her appointments for the afternoon.Don't miss a single story! What could be wrong with Denise, and why is she so tired? Here are the theories so far… Undiagnosed illness This theory seems to be one of the most likely so far. With Sam having just gone through treatment for cancer, she would be the perfect person to provide support for Denise. There are plenty of other health conditions that could explain why Denise is so tired, but we will have to wait and see what the future holds. Pregnancy While tiredness is most definitely a pregnancy symptom, fans have been quick to point out that at 57, Denise is unlikely to be expecting a baby. Denise also had Raymond later in life after a one-night stand with Phil. It would be odd for the soap to recycle the same storyline twice for the same character. Menopause Some viewers have guessed that Denise’s tiredness is linked to the menopause. However, the soap is already exploring this storyline with Honey. Would they run the same thing with two characters? Denise has also hinted on various occasions that she has already been through the menopause, so it seems unlikely that this could be causing her tiredness. Stress Running a business, raising a family and organising a household is no easy task for one person. Stress is likely to cause tiredness, and add the fact that Linda has just announced that she is going to sell her share of the salon, Denise has a lot on her mind. Could it be that Denise just has a lot on her plate at the moment, making her more exhausted than usual? What else happened in EastEnders today? Bea's video went viral Ian was horrified when he realised the damage Bea's video was doing to Elaine's reputation and begged her to delete it.
