Fans of EastEnders have joined the soap in celebrating as star Heather Peace led a tribute to the Lionesses’ recent victory in last night’s episode (airing Monday, July 28). As it did after last week’s semi-final victory, the BBC filmed an additional scene which was then inserted into the episode, celebrating the Women’s England Euro triumph.

Although this scene didn’t initially appear during the 6am iPlayer drop, it was later added into the episode. This is how it also appeared when the soap aired at 7.30pm on BBC One last night.

Heather Peace leads tribute to the Lionesses in EastEnders ‘extra scene’

In this addition to the episode, Peter finds Eve working on Stacey’s Baps in the market. As they chat, the pair discussed the Lionesses’ football win the night before.

“My heart,” Peter says. “Once they made Beth Mead retake that penalty…”

“Back to back Euro champs, Bealey-boy,” Eve replies.

The pair then go on to discuss the events of the match, paying tribute to athletes Chloe Kelly, Alessia Russo, Michelle Agyemang, Hannah (bleedin’) Hampton, and Leah Williamson.

This leads to Eve suggesting a special menu in the Lionesses’ honour, including Hampton’s Ham Rolls, Toone’s Toasties and Bronze’s Bacon Baps. We’ll have a Stanway Steak Bake too, please!
