There’s a handsome newcomer in the village in Classic Emmerdale spoilers for episodes airing on ITV3 today, Thursday April 3. He attracts Val’s attention and then hits it off with Del – but who is he and what does he want.
Elsewhere, Alan’s ashamed of his behaviour and Paddy’s professional reputation is on the line.

A handsome stranger arrives in the village!
All the women in Emmerdale watch on in delight as a handsome stranger arrives in the village.
Val’s intrigued by the newcomer and quizzes him about who he is, and why he’s come to Emmerdale. He tells her his name is David Metcalfe. When Del spots him in the pub, Val encourages her to get to know him.
Del and David hit it off straightaway and he reveals he’s come to the village to look for his father. But will he track him down?

Alan misreads the signs
Elsewhere, Alan’s annoyed when Sandy comes home drunk and behaving disrespectfully towards Betty. Alan shows his displeasure and jokingly, Sandy puts his fists up, but ends up accidentally smashing Seth’s glass tankard.
Betty’s heartbroken, but as Alan comforts her, he misreads the situation and tries to kiss her!
Jo reveals too much in Classic Emmerdale
Jo is amused by Louise’s desperate attempts to woo Hari and mocks her for having no one to spend Christmas with.
But when Jo hints that she won’t be alone over the festive season, Louise is quick to assume she means she’s having an affair. Will Louise work out what’s going on?
Paddy’s in trouble in Classic Emmerdale
Later, Paddy finds out that the sample he took from Andy’s sheep is useless. Andy’s fuming when Paddy admits he needs to re-do the test, and tells him he’s incompetent.
But things get worse as while Paddy’s at the lab waiting for the results, one of the sheep dies.

Alan’s ashamed of himself
Alan confesses his mistake to Marlon and admits he’s ashamed of trying to kiss Betty. Marlon invites him to stay with him and Donna at the pub.
When Marlon goes to Betty’s to collect Alan’s belongings, he assures Betty that Alan’s fine. Betty thinks she should go and see him, to try to smooth things over, but Marlon tells her to give him some time.
Emily’s duped by Kelly in Classic Emmerdale
Meanwhile, it’s moving-in day at Victoria Cottage and Kelly’s got a plan. She sneakily tells Emily that Paul said it was fine for her to move in.
Emily reluctantly agrees but she’s left regretting her kindness when Kelly moves her stuff into Emily’s room!
Emmerdale usually airs weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm, with an early release on ITVX at 7am.
Classic Emmerdale usually airs every weekday on ITV3 at 6am and 6.30am, plus 1.40pm and 2.10pm.
