But here’s what we thought of 2024 in Emmerdale. Emmerdale standout moments of 2024 Carena Crawford, Managing Editor “There has been some really strong story moments in Emmerdale this year, but the standout one for me was when Cain delivered the news of Zak’s death to the Dingle families. The wordless scenes which just had music playing hit just the right note and honoured the character and the late actor Steve Halliwell to perfection. In fact, the whole week of episodes dedicated to Zak (Tina Dingle’s intrusion besides) were beautiful.” Tamzin Meyer, Assistant Editor “The return of Ross Barton was a real highlight for me. Ross is a loveable bad body, with his return giving instant nostalgia of a time when the Bartons were a real strong family. Ross has always been one of the best things about Emmerdale. I’m also loving seeing his bond with April spark back up. The recent Donna flashbacks were a really lovely touch too. There’s so much history behind the character and it’s lovely to see that resurface in 2024.” Love for Ross in Emmerdale 2024! Rebecca Sayers, Soap Writer “For me, Ross Barton’s return is the best thing that has happened in Emmerdale this year. When it seemed like things could head into a bit of a slump, Ross returned and it all picked back up. He’s still got the same bad boy vibe that he had years ago, along with his softer side for those he cares about the most. Bringing him back in 2024 helped bring back the Emmerdale everyone loved and missed. Mike Parr hasn’t missed a beat and has slipped back into Ross’ shoes brilliantly. I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings for Ross.” Kerry Barrett, Freelance Soap Writer “Belle’s ordeal at the hands of Tom had me gripped throughout this year. But if we’re looking for one standout moment, then Belle hiding out in the tumbledown cottage, while Tom smashed the door with an axe has to be it. Belle’s abject terror and Tom’s single-minded pursuit of her was genuinely tense – it was so dramatic and frightening that I almost forgot it was fictional! I think both Eden Taylor-Draper, who plays Belle, and James Chase, who plays Tom, have been brilliant this year. I hope they are rewarded during awards season.” Share Add as preferred source on Google Add as preferred source on Google Good to Know Share Add as preferred source on Google Add as preferred source on Google By Carena Crawford 24 Dec 2024, 06:12 By Carena Crawford 24 Dec 2024, 06:12 Previous Story Next Story
