Classic Emmerdale has us feeling nostalgic for the characters who are no longer on our screen. Here we take a look at who we’d like to see again.
Currently in Classic Emmerdale, Bob is mourning Dawn Woods, who died as a result of Sadie King’s sabotage. While Jasmine Thomas is pregnant after embarking on an affair with Cain Dingle.
But which of these past classic characters must return?

Sadie King
Sadie, played by Patsy Kensit, was a firm favourite during her two year stint. She arrived as the wife of Jimmy King, but bored in the marriage she soon started an affair with Robert Sugden.
After being disowned by the King family, Sadie managed to worm her way back in with her scheming ways and she later started a relationship with brother-in-law Matthew.
Recently shown on Classic Emmerdale, Sadie paid Cain Dingle to sabotage the Kings’ Rivers’ Show home development. This resulted in the deaths of Dawn Woods, Noreen Bell and estate agent David Brown.
Sadie’s exit came about when Cain shot her, seemingly killing her… However, it was all staged and Sadie simply left the village.

Steph Stokes
Steph was a mainstay in Emmerdale for over 10 years. She was Alan Turner’s daughter and mother to Trisha. Though she had a complex relationship with both.
Steph thought she finally found happiness when she met Adam Forsythe and she revealed to him that she’d been sexually abused as a child by her brother Terence Turner.
Adam ended up killing Terence, but it was Steph, who was arrested and sent to prison for the crime, where she still remains.
Steph, played by Lorraine Chase, remains one of the show’s best villains and would certainly be welcomed back.

Jasmine Thomas
Jasmine was part of Emmerdale for four years. Arriving in 2005, she was the niece of Ashley and had been sent to stay with her uncle by her parents.
Her most memorable storyline was her relationship with Debbie Dingle. Debbie initially kissed Jasmine to get a reaction from her dad, Cain. But the girls soon realised they had genuine feelings for each other.
Recent episodes of Classic Emmerdale saw Cain seduce Jasmine, resulting in Jasmine, played by Jenna Coleman, getting pregnant.
Like Steph, Jasmine left Emmerdale when she was sent to prison. She was jailed after confessing to killing dodgy cop, Shane Doyle.

TJ Woods
TJ was only a child when he left Emmerdale. But now that he is 21, it would be interesting to see the man he has turned into.
The son of Dawn and Terry, TJ was caught in a bitter custody battle between the warring parents. Dawn was eventually given sole custody, but after her death, TJ moved in with his father.
TJ became an orphan when he was only 7. His grandfather Bob Hope sent him to live with Dawn’s mum Jean in Morocco. Aside from Brenda visiting him a year later, TJ hasn’t been mentioned since.
TJ still has ties in the village in the form of his grandfather and auntie Cathy, so could slot back in seamlessly.

Eli Dingle
Joe Gilgun may now be better known as Vinnie O’Neill in hit comedy Brassic. But before that he played the lovable Eli Dingle.
Eli arrived in 2006 as the younger brother of Marlon Dingle. He wasn’t initially welcomed into the family due to his mischievous ways.
He was involved in various storylines including a relationship with cousin Debbie and helping assist Alice’s death.
Before leaving the village following a robbery, Eli had an emotional conversation with Marlon about their childhood. It was later mentioned that he was living in Arbroath. With Marlon’s current troubles, it would be a good time for Eli to return.

Del Dingle
With the Dingles always ever present, Del could easily slot back in. Delilah ‘Del’ Dingle arrived in Emmerdale in 2005. She immediately made an impression as was driving a flashy red sports car while wearing a wedding dress.
Having realised the man she was supposed to marry wasn’t right for her, she instead settled into life in the Dales. Though she continued to be unlucky in love.
Del, played by Hayley Tamaddon, fell for Carl King, only to realise he loved her cousin Chas. She also had a failed relationship with Paddy, before setting her sights on David Metcalfe.
However, when she discovered David had spent the night with Katie, Del conned him of £20,000 and left the village.
