What happens in Emmerdale tonight

Moira is finally allowed home from the station, but she knows the case against her is not looking good. With seemingly no way out, how can Moira prove her innocence?

She later sees Paddy in the pub and begs him to believe she had no idea. Paddy doesn’t blame her and knows she’d never have been mixed up in this.

Paddy himself is trying to keep busy. He throws himself into work, but Lewis accidentally upsets him further while trying to comfort him. And while they’re talking, neither of them notice the land next to them – and next to Anya’s secret grave – has been disturbed. What by?

Elsewhere, DS Walsh interviews Laurel about her relationship with Ray. She suggests maybe Jai was unhappy about it, but Laurel insists Jai couldn’t have killed Ray. Even so, he is hauled in for more questioning as the finger of suspicion is pointing firmly at him.

Also, Kim thinks Joe had something to do with Moira’s arrest. She insists he stays out of it from now on.

Soap power hour has begun

In October 2024, Emmerdale began streaming the da

ily episode of the soap from 7am. Despite some concerns that it meant the soap was in trouble, coupled with lots of cast exits, it has been revealed that actually it was a great move by ITV as stats revealed viewing was way up.

The soap then announced a new schedule. The soap ‘power hour’ starting from January 2026 sees Emmerdale continue to air five nights a week. New episodes will also drop on ITVX every morning at 7am as usual.

However, the soap has moved to a new time slot of 8pm. The Thursday double bill will also be cut to half an hour to make way for additional episodes of Coronation Street.

This ensures faster-paced, digestible episodes – a 30-minute format which has already proven popular with viewers.
