What happens in Emmerdale tonight

It’s the start of flashback week in Emmerdale, as viewers are finally set to discover who killed Ray by the end of the week. Each episode will feature on a new suspect, with fans getting to see what happened between them on the lead-up to his death.

Tonight, Laurel takes centre-stage as she and Ray have a showdown. The episode picks up after Celia’s murder, and it shines a light on what our beloved villagers have been keeping secret for the last two weeks.

And for Laurel, there is quite a lot. Things between her and Ray get very tense, and when Arthur finds out, he isn’t too happy about what has been going on.

But the big question is – did either of them kill Ray?

Soap power hour has begun

In October 2024, Emmerdale began streaming the da

ily episode of the soap from 7am. Despite some concerns that it meant the soap was in trouble, coupled with lots of cast exits, it has been revealed that actually it was a great move by ITV as stats revealed viewing was way up.

The soap then announced a new schedule. The soap ‘power hour’ starting from January 2026 sees Emmerdale continue to air five nights a week. New episodes will also drop on ITVX every morning at 7am as usual.

However, the soap has moved to a new time slot of 8pm. The Thursday double bill will also be cut to half an hour to make way for additional episodes of Coronation Street.

This ensures faster-paced, digestible episodes – a 30-minute format which has already proven popular with viewers.
