What happens in Emmerdale tonight

We are finally at the point of discovering who killed Ray in Emmerdale tonight and the suspects list is long.

Ray is seen at home looking over Celia’s dead body. He then composes himself, wipes his fingerprints off the weapon and grabs his bag.

Ray goes to visit Bear and sobs over his body, still unable to fully look at his father figure. He then prepares to get rid of Celia’s body.

Ray leaves and heads to the village and we pick up with him again with Paddy. As Paddy insists he is calling the police, Ray threatens Eve’s life leaving Paddy furious, but totally trapped.

Then a raging Arthur arrives again and wants revenge. He snatches Ray’s holdall and races off. It’s only at home when Laurel catches him that they realise it contains drugs and there’s a horrifying confrontation.

With everyone beside themselves with anger and hurt the stage is set for Ray’s murder. So who does it?

Soap power hour has begun

In October 2024, Emmerdale began streaming the da

ily episode of the soap from 7am. Despite some concerns that it meant the soap was in trouble, coupled with lots of cast exits, it has been revealed that actually it was a great move by ITV as stats revealed viewing was way up.

The soap then announced a new schedule. The soap ‘power hour’ starting from January 2026 sees Emmerdale continue to air five nights a week. New episodes will also drop on ITVX every morning at 7am as usual.

However, the soap has moved to a new time slot of 8pm. The Thursday double bill will also be cut to half an hour to make way for additional episodes of Coronation Street.

This ensures faster-paced, digestible episodes – a 30-minute format which has already proven popular with viewers.
