Caleb in the frame for the murder of DI Malone after Kim land deal – new theory revealed
Kim might have been very savvy here
Caleb Miligan feels he has got a slice of his birthright in Emmerdale after Kim Tate signed over some Home Farm Estates land to him. But was this a plot on her part? Has she actually framed him for another crime?
As Caleb celebrates his victory, there is another body out there, last seen on Home Farm land: DI Malone’s. If that body was to be found on what is now Caleb’s land, questions are sure to be asked…

DI Malone
DI Mark Malone was a bent police officer who appeared in Emmerdale in 2020. He was also the boss of a criminal gang, who Will Taylor once worked for.
During his short stay in the village, Malone managed to blackmail Will Taylor, Cain Dingle and Billy Fletcher into working for him.
Malone also threatened Will’s daughter Dawn, and tried to convince her to take a fatal overdose of heroin. Fortunately, Harriet came to the rescue and hit Malone over the head with an ornament – an action both women thought had killed him.
However, an angry Malone woke up and attempted to attack Dawn and Harriet. Dawn instinctively reached for Malone’s gun and shot him three times, resulting in his death. Harriet suggested burying him in an already occupied grave.
Dawn eventually told her dad the truth when he was questioned about Malone’s disappearance. Disaster struck later that year when a woman arrived in the village and announced she was the daughter of the man in the graveyard beneath where they had buried Malone – and she wanted to dig him up.
Wanting to protect his daughter, Will took control of the situation and decided they should re-bury Malone in a secluded spot of land at Home Farm.
Kim later revealed to Will that she’d asked a shady contact to dig up the body and get rid of it, meaning that Will and Dawn didn’t need to worry about Malone anymore.
But where did he get rid of it to? Could he have been reburied somewhere else on Home Farm land – the land that Caleb now owns?

Caleb gets his hands on part of Home Farm in Emmerdale
Home Farm has been firmly in his sights since Caleb Miligan arrived in Emmerdale. As the son of Frank Tate, Caleb believes he is entitled to a share of the estate. He has tried to con Kim out of it, but it didn’t work, however now he finally has his hands on it.
After Caleb discovered Joe Tate had stolen his kidney, he wanted revenge. But Joe had worked out what had happened to Anthony Fox and Caleb knew he couldn’t report Joe in order to protect his family.
He decided to kill him instead, but Cain put a stop to that. Cain then appealed to Kim to come to a deal. That deal was the land surrounding Caleb’s depot signed over to him. He agreed, but it’s clear he still has Joe in his sights…

Caleb to be framed for Malone’s murder in Emmerdale?
On a Reddit thread, one fan mused on the theory Kim had an ulterior motive when giving the land to Caleb – and that she has protected herself.
“What if the land that Caleb got from Kim Tate is where that police officer [Malone] is buried? Like a bargaining chip for Kim if Caleb goes back on his word maybe?” they said.
Another viewer wasn’t convinced, pointing out: “Caleb didn’t arrive in Emmerdale until two years after Malone died. Kim could (and probably would) blame Harriet or Will to save Dawn because dead people can’t defend themselves.”
Despite the obvious glitch, it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility for Emmerdale to retcon this storyline and put Caleb in the frame. After all, stranger things have happened in the Dales – like stealing someone’s kidney for example!
