Dinosaurs: The Final Day with David Attenborough

Palaeontologist Robert DePalma has made an incredible discovery in a prehistoric graveyard - fossilised creatures, astonishingly well preserved, that could help change man's understanding of the last days of the dinosaurs. Evidence from his site records the day when an asteroid bigger than Mount Everest struck the planet causing the dinosaurs' extinction. In light of these findings, the veteran naturalist reveals exactly what happened, employing CGI to recreate the late Cretaceous period from which he documents, minute-by-minute, the events of that cataclysmic day some 66 million years ago

Dinosaurs: The Final Day with David Attenborough airs on BBC One Channel Islands at 1:40 PM, Saturday 17 May. (Subtitles, repeat.)
