Cathal Seoighe studied theoretical physics and then genetics in university before spending a year with the Merchant's Quay Project working on a farm in Carlow for people recovering from drug addiction. He then moved to South Africa where he spent eight years working and researching the HIV/AIDS pandemic. He currently works as a lecturer in bioinformatics at NUIG where he researches human genetics. Here, he talks to Dáithí Ó Sé about his life and work
