The Bidding Room
Bagpipes, Photofit and Toaster Radio
Season 6 Episode 12 of 30
Nigel Havers presides as five sellers aim to get the best price for their items. Marlene appears with a Danish lampshade she bought at auction. Based on a 1960s design by Werner Schou, Simon thinks this may be a later model, but it is feared its age will detract from its beauty in the dealers' eyes. Chloe presents a vintage parlour game called Physogs. The game was designed by Jacques Penry, who also created the photofit system for the Metropolitan Police in the 1930s. The others bring in a set of bagpipes, a toaster radio and a ride-on Austin toy car
The Bidding Room airs on BBC One London at 3:45 PM, Tuesday 19 August. (Subtitles, repeat.)
