Expedition Rhino: The Search for the Last Northern White
With the death of the last captive male, Sudan, the Northern White Rhinoceros was officially declared extinct in 2018. But in recent years, possible sightings from a remote region in the heart of Africa have given conservationists hope. This film follows an international team of experts on an expedition to war-torn South Sudan in search of the northern white rhinoceros. An animal native to this unexplored and dangerous region in Africa, the team is taking a huge risk to realise the dream that a lost population of these incredible beasts still exists
Expedition Rhino: The Search for the Last Northern White airs on BBC Four HD at 1:50 AM, Sunday 7 June. (Subtitles.)
