Coverage of the first session on day two of the biennial event, held this year at Japan National Stadium in Tokyo. Medals are decided in the women's marathon, which was won by Ethiopia's Amane Beriso in Budapest two years ago, with the race getting under way at 12.00. Heats in the men's 1500m and women's 100m hurdles also take place from 1.35 and 3.28 respectively, as well as qualifying for the women's hammer from 1.00.
