The coves love Herring. The lads devote this episode to the 'silver darling' that built not only the Western Isles economies, but that of many nationwide ports and cities in the last century. Reminding themselves of the traditional herring in oatmeal, they explore several recipes with the fish - herring Krakow style, pasta con le Sarde a Sicilian dish, bebecued herring, kipper pâté, fried herring and a quick pickled herring
